We're back!

After a way-too-long hiatus, The Boydstyles are back with new milestones! I'm sorry I haven't posted in so long. I can't believe I haven't posted anything since Macy's First Photo Shoot! I didn't even put up her second photo shoot, which I think was back in early August.

I'll look through my archives this week and post some pictures and such from the last few months, but for now, I'm going to post some recent WALKING videos! That's right-- at 14 months, she is finally walking. She actually took her first real steps in California last week, while I was visiting my mom and grandparents. These videos are from just a couple days ago.

Actually, this first one isn't a walking clip, it's just cute. Notice how clean and uncluttered we have kept Jim & Jill's family room.

These next two are very similar, but I just couldn't choose one over the other to post, so you get both! :)

She knows most of her main body parts, but she still gets ear & eye mixed up sometimes...and apparently, I do too (I couldn't see what she was pointing at!).

Macy's First Photo Shoot

My very talented and generous friend, Sheena, took these photos of Macy out at the Nelson/Boyd ranch. It was really interesting to watch her work, because she's so nonchalant about it--we would just walk/drive around until a prop or backdrop caught her eye, and then she'd direct me on how she'd like me to prop the baby up. She'd snap a few shots and we'd move on. You'd never know by watching her that she's this photographic phenom, but CLEARLY she is. ;)

Morgan was out of town this day, but Sheena will be doing family shots for us sometime soon as well! Yippee!!

Dancing & Crawling

Ok ok, here are a couple more cute clips:

Colorado

Last month (May 25th through June 2nd, to be exact), Macy and I got to travel to Canon City, Colorado with Ramie, Judson, and Jill to visit Morgan's family, while Morgan stayed behind to work. :( We had a lot of fun, and it was really great to get to spend some extended time with Ramie, Judson, Jill, and Fleeta. Jack and Donna came over from Pine, CO to visit for a couple days, too, which was great! I'm not going to go into too much detail about our trip, because Ramie has already done so in her blog (click here). I'm just going to share the pictures that I took.

Macy's first time "swimming"
Both the kids LOVED the ramp

Enjoying the beautiful weather in Fleeta's gorgeous back yard

Macy's first time in a swing. She lasted exactly one push before she started crying.
She liked the slide much better. (Sitting at the bottom of it, that is)

Macy loved being in the back seat because she could see Judson and pull his hair.

Cool shades, dude!

High School Reunion Weekend

I had my Bandon High School Class of 2001 reunion on the weekend of June 10, 11, & 12. My friend Amy had been planning and coordinating for months to make sure everything was perfect. She did a GREAT job! Out of 58 official graduates, 36 of them attended the reunion. Wow!!

The festivities started with a "pre-celebration" at McFarlin's Pub Friday night.

Saturday was the "Main Event": a potluck picnic at Bandon City Park.

Gathered around the stage to watch a slideshow that I made. I can't upload the slideshow to the blog because it's not the right format, but you can see a somewhat blurry version of it here.

We had an amazing amount of really great food!

Of course, Macy had a blast meeting all these new people and getting to play with so many other kids.

After the picnic and clean-up (btw, even the clean-up went smoothly!), most of us walked over to the softball field for the next event, the class softball game.

Aside from getting my standard softball bumps and bruises, it was a lot of fun and everyone enjoyed themselves.

Saturday evening was left open so that everyone could take a break and eat dinner with their families or in their own little groups, which I thought was really smart! Then we all gathered back up for a bonfire on the beach around 9 pm.

Group photo that I'm not in because I had already gone home to relieve the babysitting grandparents. Morgan actually stayed there (with my permission) and partied on with my classmates. :)

The festivities roared on as long as the fire did, into the early hours of the morning. So it was no surprise that only 7 of us showed up for the group breakfast Sunday morning.

In summary, the reunion was a HUGE success, and we will be counting down the days until the next one!
