Dancing & Crawling

Ok ok, here are a couple more cute clips:

Colorado

Last month (May 25th through June 2nd, to be exact), Macy and I got to travel to Canon City, Colorado with Ramie, Judson, and Jill to visit Morgan's family, while Morgan stayed behind to work. :( We had a lot of fun, and it was really great to get to spend some extended time with Ramie, Judson, Jill, and Fleeta. Jack and Donna came over from Pine, CO to visit for a couple days, too, which was great! I'm not going to go into too much detail about our trip, because Ramie has already done so in her blog (click here). I'm just going to share the pictures that I took.

Macy's first time "swimming"
Both the kids LOVED the ramp

Enjoying the beautiful weather in Fleeta's gorgeous back yard

Macy's first time in a swing. She lasted exactly one push before she started crying.
She liked the slide much better. (Sitting at the bottom of it, that is)

Macy loved being in the back seat because she could see Judson and pull his hair.

Cool shades, dude!

High School Reunion Weekend

I had my Bandon High School Class of 2001 reunion on the weekend of June 10, 11, & 12. My friend Amy had been planning and coordinating for months to make sure everything was perfect. She did a GREAT job! Out of 58 official graduates, 36 of them attended the reunion. Wow!!

The festivities started with a "pre-celebration" at McFarlin's Pub Friday night.

Saturday was the "Main Event": a potluck picnic at Bandon City Park.

Gathered around the stage to watch a slideshow that I made. I can't upload the slideshow to the blog because it's not the right format, but you can see a somewhat blurry version of it here.

We had an amazing amount of really great food!

Of course, Macy had a blast meeting all these new people and getting to play with so many other kids.

After the picnic and clean-up (btw, even the clean-up went smoothly!), most of us walked over to the softball field for the next event, the class softball game.

Aside from getting my standard softball bumps and bruises, it was a lot of fun and everyone enjoyed themselves.

Saturday evening was left open so that everyone could take a break and eat dinner with their families or in their own little groups, which I thought was really smart! Then we all gathered back up for a bonfire on the beach around 9 pm.

Group photo that I'm not in because I had already gone home to relieve the babysitting grandparents. Morgan actually stayed there (with my permission) and partied on with my classmates. :)

The festivities roared on as long as the fire did, into the early hours of the morning. So it was no surprise that only 7 of us showed up for the group breakfast Sunday morning.

In summary, the reunion was a HUGE success, and we will be counting down the days until the next one!

Playing Catch-Up

Whew! We have been plenty busy this past month and haven't made time to update the blog. So sorry! Soon I will post some pics of what I've been up to this month, but in the meantime, here are some videos highlighting what our little one has been up to! As you will see, she is sitting herself up, pulling herself to standing, and as of a few days ago, crawling "normally" (though I haven't gotten it on film yet). Enjoy the show!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Macy likes to "pick" things and give them to me. It started out with her picking the grass (or pretending to), but now she does with it just about anything "pluckable": the carpet, her hair, daddy's facial hair, and apparently the ribbon spikes on the top of this ball....

Macy's been doing really well with her animal noises. She will mimic a sheep "bah," but doesn't do it on her own yet. She has her "meow" and her "pig snort" down, but her current favorite is her "woof", which you will see in this video. It's very, uh, subtle... But whenever she sees a dog now, she purses her lips and blows and makes a sort of "wh" sound :) ... Oh yeah, and this video also shows her getting herself into the sitting position like a champ.

Macy doing...yoga?

Mace thinks it's hilarious when I chase her. This time, however, she didn't really think through her exit strategy.

Macy's pulling herself up to a standing position now, but I haven't been able to get it on film yet. In this one, she decides to just do a knee-stand.

I still couldn't catch her in the act of pulling herself up, but here she is standing and playing the piano.
