Peek-a-boo

Mace loves peek-a-boo, but she's usually not the one facilitating it. After our walk today, she was being super cute, "peeking" all by herself:

"Where's Macy?"
Peek!
 ...Then she grabbed the blanket...
"Where's Macy?"
Peek!

Great hat, eh?

What a ham :)

Here's some more pics from another cute stroller ride we took last night. The plan was to watch the sunset, but um, we didn't quite make it that long--it got too cold!  It was still really nice though.

Macy's Baptism

Here are some photos of Macy's baptism at the Easter Vigil:

The kids held up quite well despite being past their bedtimes

Easter weekend

This was a big weekend for little Macy. She got to spend time with Ramie, Nate, and Judson; she had to put up with mom dressing her up in multiple pretty little Easter dresses; she went to an Easter party at the Phillips' on Saturday afternoon; and she was baptized Saturday night (more on that later)!  And she managed all of this while battling her first major sickness and teething.

You can tell Macy is not at 100% yet in this picture :(
..But she still let the Grammas have their fun :)
Sunday morning: she's starting to feel better :)

Poor baby

Shortly after we got home from California, Macy started displaying some general "cold-like" symptoms-- runny nose, cough, fever (I never actually caught a number on a thermometer, but it was obvious based on how warm she was), etc-- which I kept passing off as her teething. When she started getting really lethargic (She spent a couple of days in bed for all but a few hrs/day) and fussy, I began to think there might be something else going on. Then on Friday, she woke up from her nap with a rash on her face and torso, so I called the doctor. The nurse told me that I should probably go to the after-hours clinic either tonight or tomorrow morning to have her looked at. Meanwhile, I took some pictures of the rash and texted them, along with her symptoms, to a friend of mine who is a pediatrician in Portland. He told me that her symptoms and rash were consistent with a viral infection called Roseola (and then he passed the pics around to some other pediatricians, who concurred), and that as long as the fever is under control and she is taking fluids and peeing, she should be better in a few days. Gotta love technology (and having friends with medical degrees)!  Sure enough, she toughed it out through the weekend (more to come on that) and woke up this morning bright-eyed and ready for action!  Here are  some pics of her rash:

California

Last weekend, me, Jake, and his girlfriend, Shayla, took a quick trip down to Arroyo Grande, California to visit my mom and grandparents. (Morgan had to work.) We flew down, stayed a couple days, and drove back up in my Lancer that has been parked at my grandparents' house for several months now. Ah, it's good to have Lance back!

Macy has been on a lot of road trips in her short little lifetime, but this was her first plane ride and she did fantastic! The altitude changes didn't seem to bother her at all and there was no crying (but plenty of squirming). Even though Macy was a perfect angel for the most part, it would have been a whole different adventure if Jake and Shayla hadn't come. Traveling with an infant is a lot of work! I was so glad to have them there with me to help out with her.  Here are some photos of the journey:

The weather was great but the water was still very cold
This was about as much water as Macy would tolerate

Ha ha, great shot of Macy! (she was asleep)
I can't believe I didn't get any photos of grandma and grandpa! Oops.
